New jobs hope for South of Scotland

More jobs are expected to come to the South of Scotland to upgrade the power supply network.

The first trainees to go through a unique programme with Scottish Power are now working in the region. Nine local people were recruited for the course at Dumfries and Galloway College.

The upgrading of the network will cost 10 million pounds and it's hoped more locals will find work on the power lines.
