Police Scotland are on the scene of a fatal crash on the A75 that happened this morning.
"About 6.40am this morning there's been a three vehicle road traffic collision on the A75 just east of Skyreburn tearoom, it's obviously an early part of our enquiries just now, but we're looking into the crash just now and there are crash investigators at the locus doing their work as we speak.
"It's caused a far amount of disruption, especially for ferry traffic, coming along, as you can see, there's quite a tailback of heavy goods vehicles there just now, however we would ask the public to be patient with us and to stick by the formal diversion that's on and not to take other routes that they may know if they have local knowledge because that could cause futher disruption."
Police Scotland are currently dealing with a three car road crash on the A75 road at Skyreburn in Dumfries and Galloway. One man has been pronounced dead at the scene and others injured are presently being treated.
The roadway is completely closed and will remain so for some considerable time to allow a full crash scene investigation to take place. Diversions, which are lengthy, are being put in place. Motorists are asked to avoid this area if possible.
