Cumbria Police are searching for an arsonist. They believe a furniture store in Carlisle was deliberately set alight and want the owner of a dark coloured car seen in Harvey's car park an hour before the fire began to come forwards.
The fire was reported at twenty past twelve this morning. At its height six fire engines tackled the blaze which closed Crown Street . The roof of the building collapsed and crews spent the day dampening down hot spots. No one was injured.
Fire crews believe the blaze was started in a bin at the rear of the store.

Fire crews were called out to the incident at Harvey's on Crown Street at some time before 12:18am on Saturday morning. Several road closures were put in place and Crown Street remains closed where it connects with Currock Road.
There are diversions in place at Water Street and vehicles can get onto James Street.
