A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted robbery of a Ladbrokes in Carlisle.
51-year-old Jack Gibson from Garfield Street has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He was arrested on Friday 13 December but was later bailed to appear in Carlisle Magistrates Court on 3 January 2014.
Cumbria Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the attempted robbery at Ladbrokes, Scotch Street, Carlisle on Wednesday afternoon.
The man is described as being white, aged between 35 and 45-years-old with a bald head. He is said to be between 5ft 8” to 5ft 10” and described as wearing a black jacket with a white polo type shirt, dark trousers and trainers.

Police have released details of a man they are looking to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery at a bookmakers in Carlisle.
The man is described as being aged between 35 to 45 years old, white, with a bald head and between 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins. He was wearing a black jacket, white polo type shirt with horizontal stripes across, dark trousers and white trainers.
As a precaution, officers are asking anyone who sees this man not to approach him but call Cumbria Police immediately on 101.
Police were called to a Ladbrokes in Scotch Street, Carlisle after reports of an attempted robbery.
The incident took place today at 3.30pm.
No one was injured in the incident.
