The funeral of Matthew Jordan from Middlesbrough, whose body was found last week, will take place this morning.

The twenty year old went missing after a night out with friends in Windermere. A large-scale search by police, family, and volunteers lasted nineteen days before he was found.

The funeral of Matthew Jordan, whose body was found in Windermere last week, will take place on Friday.

The 20-year-old had gone missing in Bowness-on-Windermere on 27 March after a night out with friends.

A search lasting 19 days was carried out until the Middlesbrough student's body was eventually found.

Matthew's funeral will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral in Coulby Newham at 10am on Friday, 25 April.

University pays tribute to Matthew Jordan

Teesside University has paid tribute to their student Matthew Jordan, whose body was found in a lake on Tuesday.

Matthew, who studied criminology, had been missing for nineteen days, before his body was discovered in Windermere.

A spokesman for the university says they are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss. They are offering support to students and the wider university community.

Matthew Jordan's parents to take part in press conference

The parents of Matthew Jordan, the student whose body was found found in a Cumbrian lake, are expected to thank hundreds of volunteers who spent time looking for him.

Clare and Robert Jordan are due to take part in a press conference later this afternoon.

Tributes have been paid to the 20-year-old from Middlesbrough, after his body was found in Lake Windermere yesterday, 15 April.

His friends and family were joined by local people who carried out daily searches.

Tributes have been paid to Middlesbrough student Matthew Jordan, after his body was found at Windermere this morning.

He hadn't been seen since he left a pub in Bowness on Windermere after a night out with friends on March 27.

His former criminology tutor at Teesside University and the South Lakes MP are among those paying tribute to the 20-year-old.

Matthew Jordan's body found

Police can confirm that the body found today has been identified as 20-year-old Matthew Jordan from Middlesbrough.

His body was found by the Police Marine Unit in Lake Windermere at about 10:20am today, Tuesday 15 April.

Police are not treating his death as suspicious.

His family are being supported by officers at this difficult time.
