Warwick Davies has used the Lake District as an example of places to sample the weird and wonderful sites of the UK.

Warwick Davis visits Cumbria on 'staycation'

Warwick Davis has travelled far and wide as a film actor. More recently he's been travelling across the world in the TV show an "An Idiot Abroad 3".

Well now, he's putting the passport away and trying out the "staycation".

In a new series for ITV, Warwick takes his family around Britain, including a stop in the Lake District, which he describes as his "favourite place in the world".

Film star visits Lakes

Actor Warwick Davies brought his family to the Lake District for his new programme 'Weekend Escapes with Warwick Davies'.

In the programme he will visit destinations in the UK, aiming to show that there are many great holidays to be had in Britain without having to go abroad.

Warwick Davies has starred in well known films such as 'Star Wars', 'Willow' and 'Harry Potter'.

Actor Warwick Davies has brought his family to the Lake District in search of eccentric characters and wonderful sites for his new programme.

Having had regular holidays to the Lake District, his programme will focus on holiday places to visit in the UK without having to go abroad.

Warwick Davies has starred in many films such as the Star Wars series as well as recent TV programmes 'An Idiot Abroad' and 'Life's Too Short'.
