A 48-year-old woman has died after a crash on a slip road off the A74, near Gretna.
Police say at around 7pm, on Sunday 2 August, the driver, who has not been named, appeared to lose control of her Volkswagen Touran.
The car went down the embankment at the slip road of the A74 at Junction 22, Gretna.
The woman died at the scene, and four other people in the car were injured:
- 12-year-old boy was seriously injured and is being treated at hospital in Newcastle
- 70-year-old woman was seriously injured and is being treated at hospital in Newcastle
- 43-year-old woman was injured
- 21-year-old woman was injured
The police say the woman's family have still not all been made aware of her death.
The slip road was closed while investigations took place, but has now re-opened.
Two lanes are closed northbound on the A74 (M) between junctions 21 and 20, due to a crash involving two lorries.
One of the lorries struck the central reservation, and it is expected that the two lanes will be closed for some time.
Traffic heading towards Lockerbie is also being affected.
The A74(M) northbound lane closed on exit slip road due to broken down lorry at J19 B725 (Ecclefechan).
Police are warning of surface water on the A74(M) between J15 B7076 / A701 (Moffat) and J17 B7068 (Lockerbie North).
Police are warning motorists to take extra care when driving on the A74 (M) between Gretna Green and Abington, due to surface water.
One lane is closed on the A74 (M) Northbound between J15 B7076 / A701 (Moffat) and J14 A702 / B7076 (Moffat), due to a lorry on fire.
Police are advising motorists to approach with care.
Police are warning motorists that several roads in the region are suffering hazardous conditions.
There's heavy snow reported on A74 northbound at junction 15 and black ice on the A76 near Auldgirth.
Ice has also been reported on the A713 north of Carsphairn.
The A74(M) is back to normal now after the accident earlier today.
A crash on the A74(M) today north of Lockerbie has meant the Southbound carriageway remains closed.
The accident happened at around 7am.
Two people have been seriously injured after a crash on the A74 (M).
