'Sportivate'
Almost two hundred thousands pounds has been awarded to Cumbria by the National Lottery fund, to encourage people to take up sport.
'Sportivate' is a £32 million legacy programme aimed to get more teenagers and young adults playing sport.
The programme will give people aged between 14 and 25 the chance to receive six weeks of coaching.
The investment, spread over four years, is estimated to allow 2,430 people to take in sport.
Active Cumbria has been allocated almost £50,000 per year to deliver the programme and is now looking for applications from sports providers to submit project proposals before the 31st December.
Sportivate will see 300,000 teenagers and young adults across England completing sports courses over four years.
People can find out more about the programme by visiting the Active Cumbria website.
