Full Report: Food supplier in court after allergy concerns

A national food supplier has been ordered by West Cumbria magistrates to pay almost £19,000 for supplying ground peanuts, instead of almond powder to two Cumbrian takeaways.

The potentially dangerous situation was spotted after national concerns about allergens in UK takeaway foods prompted a widespread investigation by trading standards.
