Parts of the Borders, Dumfries and Galloway and Cumbria have been hit by flash flooding this afternoon. Roads, houses and even schools have been affected by heavy downpours.
Police in Dumfries and Galloway are tonight dealing with flooding in the Langholm area which has brought rocks and debris onto the A7 - the main route through the Borders. The incident is two miles south of Langholm at Auchenrivock. Drivers can get past but are asked to avoid the area if possible.
In the Borders, 70 pupils were kept in after school because of flooding at Galashiels Academy. The weather is calmer now but if you should be worried about your property flooding, fire stations in the Borders have been opened for residents to collect sandbags.
A small landslide of rocks is blocking one side of the A7 between Langholm and Auchenrivock, after heavy rain in the area. Lothian and Borders Police are on the scene, shovelling the debris off the road.
Traffic is being guided through the area and there are no major delays. Police hope to finish clearing the road by this evening.
