Police are investigating after a body was found in the River Tweed.
A man's body was seen floating in the River Tweed near St Boswell's at 11.30am on Thursday. Firefighters managed to retrieve the body from Mertoun Bridge at 2.30pm.
The man is understood to live locally and was in his 40s.
His death is being treated as unexplained.
A man's body has been found on rocks near a pier in Stranraer.
The body was discovered on the seaward side of Port Logan pier at about half past two Sunday.He has not been identified but police have confirmed he was in his early 20s, about 5ft 10 in tall and very slim.
He had light brown hair and was wearing a dark grey top, black trousers and black shoes.Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary have asked anyone with information about the man's identity or how he may have died to contact them.
Police have called off their search for missing Southerness man James Neil after a body was found. The discovery was made last night in woodland near to Southerness Golf Course.
The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
