Carlisle students win awards

Media production students from Carlisle College have scooped three awards at the Royal Television Society Awards.

The course leader Jayne Edwards said:

"This was the first time our students have submitted entries for this prestigious event. It is safe to say that they 'cleaned up' on the night by winning 3 out of the 4 awards. Their success is due to much hard work and dedication and they should all feel immensely proud of their achievements."

The awards were handed out at the Young People's Senior Media Festival and were held at the University of Sunderland. The college principle Moira Tattersall said:

"Promoting a culture of creativity and individuality and providing appropriate staff support to develop student competencies in the use of all the available resources is something that we are particularly good at Carlisle College of the Arts.

Securing these awards at a regional level is proof of that. Inviting external scrutiny of your work can often be a nerve racking experience for students, but their efforts have really paid off. This is a truly outstanding achievement. Congratulations to all the staff and students involved."
