Chinese New Year has been celebrated in Dumfries with a lion dance procession and parade through the centre of the town.
Dumfries and Galloway Multicultural Association organised the event and will continue the Year of the Rooster celebrations this afternoon in the former Bakers Oven shop with lantern making, Chinese writing, and an exhibition.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service is asking people to be careful when using lanters to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
The lanterns have caused serious fires elsewhere in the country. The festival is on the 31st of January.
