A charity dance competition is thought to have raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity. Eden Valley Hospice hosted Strictly Dine and Dance at the Shepherd's Inn in Carlisle on Friday night.

ITV Border's Hannah McNulty, along with BBC Cumbria's Mike Zeller, Jonny Irving from News and Star, Debbie Hall from Cumbria Police, Charlotte Fisher and Duncan Raybould from Travis Perkins were paired with professional dancers. It was won by Charlotte Fisher and her partner David Hayton.

Carlisle MP John Stevenson is all set to complete a charity cycle just after 4pm today, June 1.

Carlisle MP John Stevenson is all set to complete a charity cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats later today, June 1.

He is due to finish just after 4pm and is hoping the six hundred mile challenge will raise thousands of pounds for Eden Valley hospice in Carlisle.

A Carlisle MP is cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for a local hospice.

John Stevenson is joining friends Richard Wise and Jonathan Leach on the challenge to help raise funds for the Eden Valley Hospice in Carlisle.

The hospice specialises in providing palliative and end of life care for children and adults with life limiting conditions.
