There’s been a significant drop in the number of jobless across the south of Scotland during the past month.
The latest figures show that in Dumfries and Galloway there are 144 fewer on the register at 3210 which is 3.5%, while in the Borders the 1981 (2.8 %) jobless is down by 118.
The jobless figures across the South of Scotland have shown a slight fall for the first time in more than four months. The number ofclaimants and people out of work in Dumfries and Galloway showed a drop of 19 to 3554 which is 3.9%
While in the Borders the 2346 unemployed was down by 11 to 3.3%
