Winnings will be spent on 'new trainers for the kids'
Roberta and Barry Little can now afford a huge house, lots of holidays and an endless supply of designer clothes.
However, after winning £1million on the Lottery, the Dumfries couple seem to be quite happy with a new television and some trainers for their children:
Husband wants to 'give back to wife and kids' for support through his injury
33-year-old Barry was forced to retire early after an injury at work and his wife Roberta, who's a trainee hairdresser, has been caring for him for the past few years.
He feels that now they have won the lottery, it's the perfect time for his wife and three children to enjoy some special treatment:
A couple from Dumfries who won £1million on the New Year's Day EuroMillions Raffle spent six hours checking their ticket.
Former carer, Barry Little, 33, and his 32-year-old hairdresser wife Roberta, won the bumper prize using their online account.
Mr Little described the moment he discovered they had won:
I had stayed up late on New Year’s night to watch TV. It wasn’t until 2am on 2nd January that I remembered I had bought a Lucky Dip online, so I checked my numbers.
“I noticed straight away from the list of raffle codes that mine was there. Like most people I am sure, I thought this can’t be right. This kind of thing doesn’t happen to me, so I woke my wife to get her to check them for me.
“Once Roberta confirmed we’d won, we spent the next six hours going over and over the code to make sure we weren’t mistaken. We wanted to let the children sleep, so we waited until 7am to tell them the news."

Mr Little was forced to take early retirement in 2010 after injuring his back at work.
In May 2012, he was forced to sell the family home back to Dumfries and Galloway Council.
The couple were then dependent on mum Roberta to provide for their three children.
"This could not have come at a better time for me and my family. We’ve had such a tough year and this win has really lifted our spirits.”
