Mountain Rescue Teams in Cumbria are warning walkers that continuing freezing temperatures in the hills means that there is a high risk of developing hypothermia if they are not properly equipped.

Rescuers have dealt with half a dozen cases in the past week alone and are urging walkers to make sure they check the weather prospects before heading out on the fells.
