Maryport School hopes to win new £80k classroom

A Cumbrian School has reached the final of a national competition to win a new £80,000 classroom.

Netherhall School in Maryport has been shortlisted along with four other schools from Wales, Liverpool and Guildford.

A public vote will decide if their gardening project is the winning entry.

The school hope to build an a walled garden that can be used for teaching as well as encouraging local people to grow food.

The pupils had to put together a video that demonstrated what benefits their ideas would bring to the community.

The winning school will be decided by an online public vote run by the Times Educational Supplement which has already opened and closes on April the 27th. The winner will be announced on May the 8th.
