Weather: Northern Lights last night

Despite a cloudy night the skies did clear for just long enough in some parts of the region to see one of nature's most spectacular events.

The Northern Lights, or aurora borealis, were visible to a patient few.

This picture was taken by Florin Suiu over Cockburnspath in the Scottish Borders.
