School pupils visit graves of family lost in World War 1

Pupils from Peebles High School have been visiting some of the battlefields and memorials of World War One.

As well as learning more about what happened, several pupils were visiting the memorials and graves of members of their own family, including Charlie Bell, whose great-great grandfather was killed in northern France.

Works starts on £4.8m sports facilities for Peebles High School

A sod-cutting ceremony has marked the beginning of construction on new £4.8 million sports facilities at Peebles High School.

The state-of-the-art complex will include an indoor four-court games hall, fitness suite, changing rooms, general purpose hall and classroom.

A 2G synthetic pitch, sprint track and long jump track will also be built in the school grounds and work is due to be completed by April 2014.
