The 86-year-old woman who died in a road collision near West Linton has been named by police as Joan Mellors from Peebles.
Mrs Mellors suffered fatal injuries after her silver-coloured Honda Jazz left the road as she was travelling on the A701 and overturned before coming to a stop in a field.
Road Policing Officers are continuing with their inquiries and anyone with information should contact the Road Policing Unit in Galashiels via 101, quoting incident number 1276 of 11 October.
The junction of Elleray road and Ambleside road in Windermere has been blocked as police deal with a crash that happened earlier.
Police were called to the area at 10:47am when two cars collided.
Emergency services are currently at the scene. Police are advising motorists to avoid the area.

A road collision in Penrith is being investigated by Cumbria Police after the car failed to stop.
The car hit a parked silver Ford Fiesta on Lowther street.
Police believe the collision happened at some point between 10pm on Thursday, 25 May and 6.35am on Friday, 26 May.

Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on a residential street in Hawick.
The incident happened on Thursday 3 December at around 21:30.
An 82-year-old man was involved in a collision with a Skoda Fabia as it turned onto Rosevale Street from Mansfield Crescent.
The man was taken by ambulance to Borders General Hospital where he died due to his injuries.

The A595 at Thursby Roundabout towards Wigton has been reopened.
Police were called at 12.17pm today following a collision that included 4 vehicles.
An 84 year old man was taken to hospital with minor arm injuries. There are no more known injuries at this time.

The driver who was killed in a road collision on the A595 yesterday (3rd June), has been named as 40-year-old Iain Bell from Haltwhistle.
The collision involved a lorry driven by a 52-year-old man from Hartlepool and a Toyota Landcruiser driven by Mr Bell.
Mr Bell’s family have paid tribute to a "gentle giant":
“Iain was a wonderful husband, son, brother, uncle, dad and granddad. He loved to tinker on his old wrecks which he called his pride and joys along with his three grandsons.
“Iain attended Cockermouth High School and later went on to become an electrical engineer undertaking his training at Sellafield Nuclear Power Plant.
"To most he was known as 'Big Iain' or the 'Gentle Giant', he was well liked and respected at Sellafield, where he worked as a construction manager and previously at Chapple Cross."
His wife Linda added:
"On Monday part of me died with him and life will never be the same again for me, our family and anyone else who knew him.”

Nobody has been arrested and the police are continuing with their investigation.
