Royal Marine Commando remembered in Peebles
A Royal Marine Commando from Peebles, killed in action in Afghanistan, is being remembered today as a football tournament is held in his name.
The annual event arranged by the family of Alec Lucas will raise money for a Trust set up following his death in 2008.
£90,000 has been raised for the Royal Marine Charitable Trust Fund and local sports charities.
The Alec Lucas Memorial Trophy will take place at Peebles Rovers Football Club today (Saturday 31st May).

A former pupil dropped into his old school while he was in the area - using a Chinook helicopter.
Richard Alston is now a Major in the Royal Marines.
He flew into Fir Ends School in Smithfield while taking part in Joint Warrior - a large NATO exercise being held in Cumbria.
