The fight to rid Dumfries town centre of its ongoing seagull problem is moving forward, according to a new report.

Figures from the Urban Gull Task Force report show that the number of seagull eggs and chicks removed is more than double than that of two years ago- increasing from 1,622 to 3,999.

However, the birds are still posing a nuisance in the town, with figures showing that 671 nesting pairs were counted last year, which is almost double the number counted in 2009.
