Cumbria Police are hosting a live web chat on Wednesday dealing with all questions and issues around this year's Appleby Horse Fair. The panel will comprise representatives of the police, travelling community and Eden District Council.
This year's fair will take place from the 7th to the 13th of June. Appleby has a resident population of 2,500 but during the Fair it rises to around 12,000 with an additional 30,000 visitors turning up to watch the spectacle.
Anyone with questions about this year's event can take part in the web chat between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday 23rd of May by clicking here
Robin Hooper, the Chief Executive of Eden District Council told ITV Border:
"We want to build on the succes of last year. In 2011 thousands came to enjoy the Fair and arrests were down significantly as people came in the right spirit.
This year we have been working closely again with the travelling community and the other agencies involved to ensure we will see another fantastic event this year. We are extending a warm welcome to everyone who wants to come and make this year's horse fair a success."
