A full scale water safety campaign is being launched at Douglas Ewart High School in Newton Stewart.
A number of emergency services will be involved in teaching youngsters how to stay safe around water this summer.
The event is being used to highlight the dangers to young people across Scotland.
Lake wardens are teaching Primary School children how to stay safe on Windermere.
22 children from Flookburgh Church of England Primary School are attending water safety workshops to raise awareness of the dangers surrounding deep water.
So far more than 3,000 children in south Lakeland have been trained.
