The Prince of Wales is visiting the region today. His Royal Highness joined an estimated 40,000 people attending the Westmorland County Show, near Kendal.
The Prince spent time talking to farmers and met stall holders who specialise in local produce, and as he toured the show ground, large crowds tried to catch a glimpse of the royal visitor.
Christine Knipe, from the Westmorland County Agricultural Society, says the visit is a huge honour:
The Prince of Wales will visit the Westmorland County Show for the first time on Thursday 14 September. His Royal Highness will get to see Cumbria livestock, food and crafts as well as meeting staff and visitors.
The Westmorland County Show is one of the oldest agricultural shows in the country, attracting 30,000 visitors each year. It will take place at Lane Farm in Milnthorpe, Cumbria.
