Cumbria County Council has recommended to shut one of three west Cumbrian care homes earmarked for closure.
Cabinet members have voted that the Woodlands home at Distington should be closed.
However Park Lodge at Aspatria and Richmond Park at Workington are to remain open.
Residents of three west Cumbrian care homes will find out today if they are to be closed by Cumbria County Council.
The authority says Park Lodge in Aspatria, Richmond Park in Workington and Woodlands in Distington are no longer fit for purpose.
But campaigners say they want them to stay open.
A consultation has been held into the proposals.
A decision is expected to be made by cabinet members at a meeting in Kendal this morning.
Iris Stobbart's mother is 96 year old Renie Stobbart. Renie is blind and lives in the Park Lodge Care home in Aspatria. It's ear marked for closure. Her family say she wouldn't survive if she was moved elsewhere. The county council makes its final decision on care home futures next week.
