Hundreds of speedway fans are expected at Derwent Park today as Workington Comets host their open day.

Fans can meet the team and management and watch them complete some practice laps.

The season starts on Thursday with an away game to Sheffield before a home game against Redcar on Saturday. The VIP guest at that first home match has ben confirmed as Boyzone's Shane Lynch.
