A Utilities firm has been fined £200,000 by the Environment Agency for dumping sewage in the River Keekle.United Utilities has apologised for discharging quantities of untreated sewage into the river.
We did not find any evidence of environmental harm but these discharges had the potential to cause significant environmental harm to the River Keekle and bathing water quality at Seascale and St.Bees.
