A lifeboat crew from Workington are expected to receive an award for one of their most dramatic rescues to date. A father and son had a narrow escape when their yacht got into trouble off Whitehaven last week.

Crewmen had to carry out the rescue in horrendous weather conditions which included twenty foot waves and snow.
