A woman and her dog have been rescued after getting trapped in mud in marshland near Dumfries.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to get pull them free after they'd become stuck at Kingholm Quay.
The woman was in mud up to her waist and the dog was up to its neck.
Fire bosses are urging members of the public to keep pets on leads when they are near water and not to try to rescue animals themeslves which may have become trapped in mud.
