A CLIMBER from Newcastle was taken to hospital by the Great North Air Ambulance with serious back and leg injuries after falling in the Lake District.
The man was rescued by Keswick Mountain Rescue Team after falling 15 metres when attempting a climb on Shepherds Cragg, Borrowdale.
A spokesman for the GNAA said: "Aircrew Paramedics assessed and treated the patient for injuries and Keswick MRT extricated the patient from the bottom of the cragg to the helicopter. The patient was flown to hospital."
The man is recovering at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
