After crossing the Scottish border the torch headed to Wigton, West Cumbria.
It was met by huge crowds that included hundreds of primary school children who had been given time off to watch the event.
For torchbearer Lauren Hardon, 15, her relay leg ended with a hug from her father, who had returned from Afghanistan just hours earlier.
