The former England rugby union captain Steve Borthwick has been given an honorary fellowship by the University of Cumbria.
The ceremony took place at Carlisle cathedral this morning. Born in Carlisle, he captained his country between 2008 and 2010 and is now a member of the England Saxons squad. He said being awarded the fellowship was a great honour.

Carlisle is expected to be a hotly contested seat, and on May 7 the vote could be a benchmark for the rest of the country.
It'll be built at the site of the old Robinson's Brewery in Ulverston.
