The head of one of Britain's biggest trade unions says he's hopeful that 300 jobs can still be saved at a Ministry of Defence site in the region. The base in Longtown is threatened with closure as part of cost cutting measures.
The General Secretary of the Prospect Union met staff and said that the chances of saving the site have improved, but they still have a fight on their hands.
