Lockerbie creamery picks up major awards

Lockerbie Creamery is celebrating after winning two awards at the "worldcup" of cheese shows. The Milk Linksite, which employs 250 people, collected a gold award for theirsalted butter and a bronze award for their cheddar cheese at theNantwich International Cheese show.

Milk Link is a network of 2,200 farmers, which returns profits to farmers to ensure a sustainable future. They buy their milk from local farmers and their cheese and butter is supplied to Scottish businesses.

The Dumfriesshire based company faced opposition from a record number of 3,950 cheeses from 28countries and collected six trophies and 48 medals.
