Maryport woman hides almost £70k to gain benefits
A Maryport woman has been prosecuted for fraudulently claiming Housing and Council Tax Benefits.
Jean MacDonald, 54, of Grange Avenue, Flimby, admitted having almost £70,000 in the bank more than she had declared.
MacDonald admitted failing to declare the money to receive benefits. She gained £3,318.85, a sum the council is trying to recover.
