The funeral takes place today of Neil Armstrong - the first man on the moon. Langholm in the Borders is the ancestral home of the Armstrong clan and the astronaut visited in 1972 to receive the freedom of 'Muckle Toon'.
During the visit he referred to Langholm as 'my home town'. Now the town councillors are considering a memorial service for him.
Neil Armstrong died in Ohio on Saturday, aged 82. A private service is due to be held today in Cincinnati.
