A biker who died in a crash with a car near Egremont last night has been named as Stephen Sharp, who was 52 and from Millom. His family called him the "life and soul of the party".
His motorcycle collided with a black Vauxhall Astra on the A595 at Blackbeck Inn in west Cumbria.
His family said: “It is with great sadness that Stephen has been so tragically taken from us. He will be deeply missed by his family, especially his daughter and his friends from around the country.
"Best known for his love of motorbikes and rock music, whose characteristics made him the life and soul of the party, Stephen will undoubtedly be missed by all who knew him.”
The car driver, a man aged 56, also suffered serious injuries and was taken to the West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven.
