*Workington's oldest live entertainment venue will open again on Friday 7th September to the strains of an AC/DC tribute band. It is hoped that the radically modernised Carnegie Theatre will bring more live music, theatre and entertainment to the town. *
The £220,000 revamp has seen removable seating, new flooring, and new sound and lighting systems. Considerable repair works have been undertaken to the roof and external fabric of the building. The theatre now seats around 325 people and accommodate around 490 people for a concert.
