Thousands of people braved the wind and the rain and lined the streets yesterday as the Tour of Britain continued its journey through our region. The same stage was cancelled last year because of the weather.
If the conditions didn't make things tough enough, the cyclists had to take on the challenge of the Cumbrian fells.
Hundreds of people in Cumbria were able to see Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish and the rest of the Sky Team up close on Tuesday night as they dropped in at a village pub near Penrith.
After completing the stage from Jedburgh to Dumfries, the riders went for a meal. As Tim Backshall reports, the pub had won the honour of hosting them in a national competition.
