Police in Dumfries say a local 28 year old man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on the A711 near Cargenbridge on Sunday 9 September.
The man will be held in custody and is expected to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court on Monday 17 September.
“I would like to thank everyone who has come forward and supported the investigation so far.
“Our enquiries into the incident continue and I would ask that if anyone has any information that they think may be able to assist us, if they contact the enquiry team at Loreburn Street police station.”
