The weather conditions are looking good for the weekend with most parts of the region fine and dry. We have to get through an unsettled spell overnight into Friday before conditions start to really settle down.
Thursday night: A spell of showery rain. Heavy and prolonged in the south for Cumbria. More showery further north, especially by dawn. Lows of 6C.
Friday: The rain should clear early. Sunny spells and scattered showers. Drier conditions more likely in the east towards The Borders. A few sharp showers, more likely in the west. Highs of 13C
The Weekend: Dry and bright by day. Cold by night. Widespread frosts. Misty mornings and temperatures peaking at only 12C Sunday.
By Sunday evening rain will have moved in from the south-west.
