A teenager is in hospital in Glasgow after a crash on a level crossing five miles east of Stranraer. A train hit the car he was driving at around 1:45pm on Sunday afternoon. A dozen passengers were treated for minor injuries.
The eighteen year old car driver is in a serious condition in hospital. The railway line between Ayr and Stranraer has been closed while police investigate the collision.
