Paraglider injured in Lake District

Great North Air Ambulance, Stye Head Tarn

A paraglider is recovering in hospital after falling 60 feet when his canopy collapsed at Stye Head Tarn near Keswick.

The 25 year-old from Northamptonshire was airlifted to hospital by the Great North air Ambulance with pelvic and back injuries.

Keswick Mountain Rescue Team helped to get the man to the helicopter, he was then flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
