A care assistant who assaulted a 91-year-old woman suffering from severe dementia is appearing at Selkirk Sheriff Court today.
27-year-old Holly Gordon was suspended from her job at Galashiels Nursing Home last month, when the attack was reported by a colleague.
Gordon, from Selkirk, previously pleaded guilty to assaulting her 91-year-old patient by striking her on the body with her hand on September 8th this year.
