The National Audit Office (NAO) is warning of the immense financial and technical challenges that lie ahead in decommissioning the giant Sellafield nuclear site in West Cumbria.
The NAO expresses particular concern over the time and costs involved in cleaning up highly radioactive material held in deteriorating legacy ponds and silos.
