A 56-year-old man from Maryport was trapped in his lorry after it left the road and ended up in a field.
The accident happened at the Hardgrove Junction on the A75 between Ruthwell and Dalton, just after 6 o'clock this morning.
The driver was initially trapped, but later managed to climb free and was uninjured.
Dumfries and Galloway Police and the fire service helped clear traffic.
The road is expected to be closed, to allow the lorry to be moved.
