Queens boast profits

Queen of the South have turned a loss of almost £300,000 into a profit of just over £20,000 during the last season.

The annual report to be put before directors later this month shows that one reason for the turnaround was a cut in the wages bill by £300,000 and there was also a good Cup run bringing tv rights.

The report adds that despite relegation to the second division at the end of the season, the outlook for the future is more positive with a tremendous start to the new season and qualification for the Ramsdens Cup final following the defeat of Rangers.
