A new museum dedicated to one of Scotland's most famous authors has opened.The John Buchan Story in Peebles charts the life of the author of The 39 Steps, his family connections to the Borders and literary story.
It features exhibits that were on show in a previous museum in Broughton that shut in 2011. Fundraisers have secured £300,000 needed to open the new museum at the Chambers Institution.Among the first visitors were pupils from Lockerbie Academy who have been studying The 39 Steps.
